About us

Dear fellow human,

Thank you for being here today and taking the time to read this letter.

I am a Brasilian-American, queer, immigrant woman given the name Victoria by my mother, after her great grandmother who was part of the Krenák tribe in Minas Gerais, Brasil where I was born almost 30 years ago.

After emigrating to the United States I was mostly raised between New Jersey in my earlier years and South Florida in my later years. However these days, I’ve chosen a more nomadic approach to living and have a full time home on wheels.

My mother raised me and my two older brothers on her own as an immigrant in this country and she is the thought that sparked Migrant Threads.

You see, my mom trusted me to be as strong of a woman as she is.

We arrived in America ready to build a new future and so where she went, I went too.

An entrepreneur at heart, she started me off in her cleaning crew picking up items off the floor so she could vacuum houses and offices.

Eventually, she was able to rent a commercial kitchen and so I joined her as her sous chef if you will; When I started driving, she made me her delivery driver and expanded her catering orders.

It is because of this work ethic instilled in me that I am able to finally be here with you today.

Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to advance my education in this country but luckily I’ve never been picky with labor and will work the jobs I have to, to fund my future.

Because of this, I’ve become a jack of all trades. Skilled in operating farming equipment, or decorating a cake. There is nothing I can’t teach myself.

Which brings me here. Designing clothing, and a website.

In hopes that I can have a creative space, where I get to express myself and share my journey.  A place where I get to build a community and treat my people the right way, clients and employees alike.

Migrant Threads is a dream that I get to have while I’m still awake, and I cannot  thank you enough for that.

My designs are meant to be loud and expressive because if you know me, you know how well those two adjectives describe my personality.

If there is a design I can customize for you or someone you know, please reach out on our contact page! I also create custom logos, and am happy to offer bulk pricing for your event or small business.

Whether it be apparel to accessories and anything in between, I am happy to work with you to provide the best product and service I can.

I look forward to hearing from you, and I hope you can enjoy a little piece of my journey too.

Thank you for reading

Love your fellow human,

Victoria
